Is Maryam Nawaz Behind the Divorce between Junaid Safdar and Ayesha?
The marriage of Maryam’s son, Junaid, to Ayesha, the daughter of the former accountability bureau chief Saifur Rehman, has ended after two years, raising numerous questions and piquing public curiosity about the separation.
Late on Thursday, the grandson of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif officially confirmed the split on social media. This development led to people critiquing Maryam Nawaz, the principal organizer of the former ruling party, who is known for her outspoken personality.
A day after the divorce, an alleged statement attributed to Ayesha, the former wife of Junaid Safdar, began circulating online. In this statement, she openly pointed the finger at her ex-mother-in-law for intruding into their married life’s privacy.
The social media post, now circulating widely, features Ayesha making serious allegations against Maryam Nawaz. Ayesha addressed the need to clarify certain aspects of her divorce and quoted, “The Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran that He has created husband and wife so that they could live with each other peacefully.” She went on to express that while wealth and other amenities have significant roles in today’s life, the peace (Sukoon) associated with marriage was absent from her life.
Ayesha expressed her lament that the ‘Sukoon‘ (peace and tranquility) she had sought was never present after marrying Junaid. She also expressed her contentment after the divorce, stating, ‘Unfortunately, my former mother-in-law did not acknowledge this fundamental human need.’
