Usman Mukhtar Personal Life
Usman Mukhtar born in Rawalpindi on 27 Jul 1985. His mom, Nasira, acted in 158 films and was famous for playing villain roles. His grandpa was a lawyer. Even though Mukhtar wanted to be a movie director, his family didn’t support the idea. Instead of going to film school, he chose to study journalism. At one point, he also dreamt of being a pro cricketer, but his family discouraged him from that too. In April 2021, Mukhtar tied the knot with Zunaira Inam Khan in a small and private nikkah ceremony.
Career
Usman Mukhtar started making films in 2006 and acting in theaters in 2007. He directed music videos and short films while also performing in plays. His big break in movies came with a role in the 2016 film Janaan, followed by a part in the 2018 film Parchi, where he also worked as the cinematographer.
In 2019, Mukhtar made his TV acting debut in the Hum TV drama Anaa alongside Naimal Khawar.In 2020, he was the host for the Hum Style Awards and also took on the role of “Dr. Haris” in the Hum TV series Sabaat alongside Sarah Khan. In 2021, he appeared in the drama serial Sinf-e-Aahan and played Aswad in Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay with Mahira Khan and Kubra Khan.
Mukhtar is set to star in a sci-fi movie based on the popular superhero Umro Ayyar from the 80s and 90s. The film, titled Umro Ayyar – A New Beginning, was announced in November 2021.
In April 2022, Mukhtar ventured into production by launching Eastern Terrestrial (ET) Studios with actor Meiraj Haq. The studio aims to discover and support new talents. In June 2022, he released the well-received horror short film Gulabo Rani, which won the Best Short Film Award at the 2022 Los Angeles Sci-Fi & Horror Festival.
